Peter Strachan

Strachan Corporate Pty Ltd is an Australian Financial Services licensed (AFSL 259730) provider of independent corporate research and other financial services, including branded corporate research, corporate and project valuation advice, merger and acquisition advice and investor relations consulting. Its principal Peter Strachan, holds a BSc in Metallurgy from the University of Melbourne, a Finance Diploma from the Securities Industry Association and is a Senior Fellow of Finsia, as well as an Affiliate of the Stockbrokers Association of Australia.

Peter commenced working life as a research metallurgist in Zambia, gaining a high level of practical experience over the next eight years with companies such as Bougainville Copper in PNG and CRA Ltd, now Rio Tinto.

Peter has worked with a range of UK and Australian based Securities Industry firms over the past 29 years as a corporate analyst, stockbroker, corporate advisor and Company Director.  Nine years ago, he established an AFS Licensed, independent research business which he operates under the Strachan Corporate banner. Peter is co-owner of weekly subscriber based analyst brief, StockAnalysis.

Peter has lived outside of Australia for a total of 11 years. Between early 1989 and late 1992 he worked on an later ran an Australian investment desk in the City of London, first with Credit Lyonnais and then with Smith New Court.

Strachan Corporate is the AFS License holder supporting a weekly, subscriber based analyst brief, StockAnalysis. StockAnalysis (www.stockanalysis.com.au) provides top-down analysis of the economic and investment environment. It focuses specifically on bottom up evaluation of undervalued investment opportunities in the resource sector and in other sectors on an opportunistic basis, looking for sound and sometimes more speculative opportunities for subscribers. StockAnalysis is published each Wednesday and an audio ‘feedback’ session is available to subscribers each Thursday.
